Gadgets

I finally figured how to use gadgets to add pictures to my sidebar although I haven't been able to figure out how to rearrange them in the order I'd like. I also changed my about me but had to shorten it because they kept on saying it was too long. But in the long run it doesn't really matter. Some days it seems that nothing matters but making it through one more day without doing anymore harm. I seem to realize more and more that the dichotomy in the world strengthens with every day. And the other side keeps (the one I'm not on) gets stronger as the voices on our side die out. RIP Howard Zinn. I wanted to print here what Zinn wanted to be remembered for but for whatever reason I can't paste in my blog. Does anybody know why?

  1. No, I don't know why. But whatever you wanted to copy from Zinn, I'm sure it was wonderful. Yes, another voice is silenced, but there are many, many more. Don't let it get to you.

  2. I can't help you with fancy footwork in your blog (blogger has so many helping hand bits to it, could you go through them?) but I certainly want to help you cheer up. You sound so sad. Politics is a rotten business, it often makes me seriously angry, so I try to stay away from it. We're never going to change stupidity and greed.

Come and join me in the miscellany club and bring a friend or two. See if we can't lighten the load a bit.

  3. Me again, Karin.

I've just read your revised profile here in the sidebar, I am gobsmacked!
Have you blogged about your life, I mean properly, story by story? If not, for heaven's sake, woman, start now.

  4. I'm a techno-twit, Karin, only in JK. I managed to figure out book lists and other little gizmos on sidebar. The end result is there but the means I take is rather a long road.
Yes, I was profoundly affected by Howard's passing and worry about Noam and James Lovelock. As there really is no one up and coming apart from Naomi Klein who is, well, our modern prophet.

  5. I know, Zinn was such a light in this world. May he rest in peace. I'm so happy for you that you figured out something on the sidebar. It is foreign territory for me. I like what you said about doing no harm. Some days I feel like that's the best I can do.

Thanks for your fun comment about Turkish. I wish your family well. How lucky they are.

  6. I heard about Zinn right after watching Obama's state of the union speech. That made me want to suck on a piece of ice-9. I'm still grieving over Vonnegut's passing. At least we can grieve together.
