BlogBlast for Peace

I'm having lots of trouble with our satellite connection. I hope this one goes through. Celeste, there is a site called BlogBlastforPeace.com run by Mimi Lennox who started this and I got it from Bobbie's site, Almost There. I'm still not sure what exactly to do but November 5 seems to be the day all us bloggers are supposed to put up Dona Nobis Pacem. Can you help us Bobbie? Something about designing a globe and posting it. By the way, Celeste, Eliot got two comments on some of his photos from the north rim of the Grand Canyon in Portugese from someone who can only travel on the internet. He was able to find out from panoramio how to translate them. I haven't yet figured out how to translate on Facebook where I have a new friend from Belgium with a similar name to mine. I was born Karin Goldfeder. Her name is Kareen Goldfeder. Eliot drove down and up the mt yesterday with minimal pain. Big problem now is rotator cuff. Is it neurogenic or torn or both. In any event, long time to heal but he's doing exercises from physical therapist. and I am trying to stay positive despite Eliot's thinking I'm silly to do things like BlogBlast for Peace.

  1. This is the website telling how to get the globe: http://mimiwrites.blogspot.com/2009/02/how-to-get-your-peace-globe-2009.html

You choose a plain globe, and you can design whatever you want on it, or just use words, or do whatever you want with it. Send it to Mimi when it's done. And on the day of Blogblast, you post it with whatever you want to write on the subject of Pace. I haven't re-read Mimi's explanation today, but I'm sure she explains it all. If you have any questions (I did the first time) you can email her. She's very good about answering any and all questions.

  2. Sorry for the mis-print. That's "Peace", not "pace"

  3. Thank you Karin and Bobbie, I will follow your instructions. Yes, we have to do it, never mind what Eliot says...tell him if he needs translations from Portuguese or French, to count on me.
I am glad Eliot is doing his exercises, they do help. And that you are both in good spirits. So interesting to find someone with the same name in another part of the world. And your name is very unusual. Are you of German or Belgium origin?

  4. This is the url for the translator I have on my blog. I don't know if they can put one on Facebook, but maybe. You can try anyway.

  5. Karin,

I just sent you a letter via Facebook. My post will explain it further. WELCOME to the peace globe movement. As I said in my letter, we will more than happy to make a globe for you if you don't have the proper program. Just tell me what you'd like on it, and we'll get it done. There are many peace bloggers who help with this.

Go here to see thousands of examples from 47 countries (yes!) http://blogblastforpeace.com

Go HERE to read what I wrote about you on my blog tonight. You are not silly. You are amazing! Your comment INSPIRED me. Thank you.

I hope Eliot feels better soon.

  6. I read about you on Mimi's blog. I've participated in two Blogblasts for Peace and always felt a sense of fellowship on that day. It really is incredible what Mimi has accomplished and shows that people from all over the world can stand together in a desire for Peace.

One of my most treasured blogbuds has helped me in the past create my Peace globes. In fact, I think it was the Blogblast for peace that cinched our friendship. I am crossing my fingers that this year, I can make my globe on my own. If I can help you, please let me know.

    Be blessed Karin!
